Tarantula Gear is responsible for the establishment and operation of the tarantulagear.co.il website. We place great importance on providing equal service to all citizens and improving the service provided to citizens with disabilities.
We invest many resources in making our digital assets and website accessible in order to make our company’s services more available to people with disabilities.
In Israel, about 20% of the population are people with disabilities who need digital accessibility to consume information and general services. The accessibility of the Tarantula Gear website is intended to make it more available, user-friendly and convenient for audiences with special needs, arising, among other things, from various motor disabilities, cognitive impairments, color blindness, hearing impairments and the elderly.
The site’s accessibility was carried out by the website accessibility company “Vee Accessibility.”
Accessibility level of the site – AA
“Vee” has adapted the site’s accessibility to popular browsers and mobile phone use as much as possible, and has used screen readers like Jaws and NVDA in its testing.
It complies with the requirements of the 5688 Accessibility of Rights for People with Disabilities Act 2013 at the AA level. In addition, recommendations from the WCAG2.2 document by the W3C organization are implemented.
How to switch to an accessible mode?
An accessibility icon is located on the site (usually in the site’s corners). Clicking the icon opens the accessibility menu. After selecting the appropriate function, the page needs to be reloaded for the desired change in display (if necessary).
In case you want to cancel the operation, click the function again in the menu. In any case, accessibility settings can be reset.
The software operates on popular browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Opera are recommended for accessible use with Chrome being the most compatible (manufacturer’s conditions).
The site provides a semantic structure for assisting technologies and supports the familiar usage pattern for operation with keyboard arrows, Enter, and Esc for exiting menus and windows.
For the best browsing experience with screen-reader software, we recommend using the most up-to-date version of NVDA.
